Bel Cantanti Opera 2010-2011 Season Auditions!

Bel Cantanti Opera Company is announcing auditions for its 2010-2011 season. Singers are needed for a double bill: G. Pucinni's Gianni Schicchi and R. Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (performances are on November 13,14,20,21); Gounod's Romeo et Juliette (performances in March); and Rossini's L’Italiana in Algeri (performances in May). All roles are open.

Auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 22 and 23, 2010, in Washington DC, at the JPH Hall, Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Catholic University of America, 620 Michigan Ave, N.E., Washington D.C. 20064.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30 , 2010, auditions will be held in New York City, at the Studios of 353 West 48 St. Pianists are provided free of charge for all audition dates.

To schedule an audition singers need to send an application package via email to auditions@belcantanti.com . Package should include:

1. a current resume

2. a headshot

3. mp3 recording or a link to the website or Youtube

4. an application (click to download)

5. a cover letter

6. the application fee of $35, paid online by a credit card. (click to make a payment)

Two arias (French and Italian) are requested for the audition. Singers auditioning for the lead roles in the opera are required to sing an aria from that role.

Accepted singers will be informed about their audition slot via email. Deadline for the applications is May 20, 2010.

Bel Cantanti Opera Company auditions singers in the end of each season, in May. Please join our mailing list to receive an announcement about the season auditions. Auditions are held at the Catholic University of America, The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, 111 Ward Hall, The Catholic University of America, 620 Michigan Ave. NE Washington D.C. 20064.
