Bel Cantanti Opera Training Studio

Bel Cantanti opera company recognizes the importance of educating young singers. We want to help them to build repertoire, give them knowledge about history and traditions in vocal performance, technique and style. We want to broaden their horizons and help them to find their path in the big world of opera.

In August 2010 we are planning to create BCO studio, a performance seminar class that will be taught by the Artistic Director of BCO, Dr. Katerina Souvorova. The seminar will be held weekly at the Catholic University of America. It will include reading through the operas, learning new operatic repertoire, watching the DVDs and collective discussions, coaching and technical work by invited technicians and guests of the program.

The members of the studio will be selected by auditions only. The size of the studio will not exceed 6-7 people, current and former students of CUA, UMD and other schools of the region.

The members of the studio will perform the recital of opera scenes and arias learned during the study. Members of the studio will also be participating in Bel Cantanti Opera productions of the season.

Auditions for the program will be held during the season auditions for BCO scheduled on May 22-23 at JPH Hall, Catholic University.

Singers interested in participating in the program need to contact Dr. Katerina Souvorova at studio@belcantanti.com to schedule an audition.
